unable to delete test plan folder in ALM

Sometimes ALM users are unable to delete test plan folder in ALM. In some cases users may not be able to create folders.

Root cause of this issue

Main reason why users are not able to delete the test plan folder is because they do not have permission to do so. In ALM, there are various roles like tester, Test manager, developer, admin etc. ALM is setup in such a way that only ALM admins are allowed to delete test plan folders. If user role is tester, they can not delete folder.

Solution

One way to fix this issue is to tell ALM admin to delete the folder for you! Other way is to ask admin to modify tester role so that they can delete the folder themselves.

Other permissions

ALM admins can modify lots of permissions like renaming the folders from requirements, test plan, test lab or creating a graphs folder etc. Also Admins can restrict users from deleting the defects. So if you want to customize these permissions, ALM admin can do so for your role.
